Wood Lathe Projects 1 of 5


In the pictures that follow you will see some small ornaments which have been very popular as Christmas tree ornaments. They can be made out of solid pieces of wood that have good grain contrast or combinations of various woods glued together to give interesting patterns. I will take you through the basic steps of fabrication. Each piece is unique because of the woods used and the central pattern. Almost any pattern can be used as long as it is symetrical about the center line. You may have to make your own special lathe tools for doing some of cuts for stars or hearts but that is easy to do by grinding the tang of old files to the shape desired. Questions ?
